KCBS Radio afternoon anchor and A2A founder Jeff Bell talks with disability advocate Cindy Kolbe.

Cindy fell asleep behind the wheel resulting in her then 14-year-old daughter Beth sustaining a spinal cord injury, which left her paralyzed. Beth went on to be the first person with a physical disability to be on the Harvard Women’s Swimming and Diving Team. She also set records at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and graduated from Stanford Law School.

Cindy – who volunteers as a peer counselor at the Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation – is inspired by her daughter’s courage and resilience. Cindy has a blog and is writing a memoir called “Struggling With Serendipity.”
