Overview and learning goals
At A2A we focus on the science and practice of turning your adversity into impactful and transformative advocacy. One of our key goals is to enable aspiring adversity-driven advocates to find pathways into advocacy.
We also support established adversity-driven advocates by providing them with networking opportunities and showcasing the power of turning their adversity into advocacy.
This course will cover the basics of adversity-driven advocacy including:
- — The science of adversity-driven advocacy and key concepts and provide you with opportunities to take your first steps into advocacy (Module 2)
- — Key skills to sharing your story (Module 3)
- — What you need to know about networking and getting the word out (Module 4)
- — The basics of navigating the nonprofit world (Module 5)
- — How to practice self-care while pursuing your advocacy (Module 6)
- — And additional steps and resources towards your career in advocacy beyond this course (Module 7)
We will add additional content to this course over time and will send you a notification when we upload new materials.
This is a fully asynchronous and self-paced online course.
The course is delivered via a series of modules. Each module consists of several content pages. You can think of modules as chapters in a book; they organize pages of related content.
By clicking the “Next” button at the bottom of each content page you can easily continue from one page to the next.
You can also use the Modules link to navigate through the various modules and pages in this course.
While we will make recommendations for external paid content, you will not encounter any paywall in this course and will not need to purchase any materials to complete this course.
The course does not count for academic credit and includes no required graded work. However, you will encounter occasional self-check quizzes to help you track your progress.
